And we're back. Back with more bags.

It's been absolutely forever (2 years and almost 4 months) since my last post and quite a bit happened in between that I decided not to post here. Scotland happened and there was so much going on there that I did not manage to keep up with this blog and just plainly decided not to work on it. And another busy year went by when I didn't really make anything to put on here, or I did make something but had no time to take pictures of it and then the excitement was over and things got dirty and so that went down the drain again.

I don't even remember which font I used to use (OK, I checked, of course, it's Georgia).

Here we go.

These first two bags are both for my sister, she basically wanted one that's the same baroque styled fabric as mine and another small one because she didn't have a cute blue-ish one yet.

The third one was made for my mom's friend, just as a small something, it's not really anything special and still I feel like it looks really nice in the sun with all the warm tones.

And last but certainly not least is my own new bag. I've had this one cut out for a few months but haven't managed to get enough free time to sit down and think it through. The style of this one was slightly new to me because of the was I wanted it to stand up which meant I had to first sew it together and then somehow put in a plastic board in both front, back and bottom part. It took a while to find the time when I wouldn't have to rush it and now it's done and it's cute and it's also springy and summery... so nothing new really but I'm not in time with the seasons.

Thanks for checking this out, hopefully there will be more posts coming soon.

DIY Button Necklaces

Friday evening was a perfect time to do something new, especially because I didn't feel like sewing anymore. You know how that works then, you end up browsing random things on the Internet, watch a couple of new episodes of your favourite series and randomly find an idea that usually just ends up in a big folder on your computer. But alas! This Friday was different, I stumbled upon this necklace made with retro looking buttons. And since I just bought hot glue gun a few weeks ago I was eager to try it out more.
Browsing through our home button collection I didn't find enough retro buttons so I just took out all that looked kinda nice and were in shades that I would need for the ideas that were quickly forming in my head.
It probably took me an hour or so to make these 4 necklaces and honestly I'm impressed how well they turned out, didn't expect it, haha.
Oh and to get those ribbons for the necklaces I took a bike to Svet metraže and spent a good hour there, of course as usual, buying more than I need, this time 'only' 4 extra pieces of fabric that I don't really need. Dear me!
Hope you like them.

Queen's 60th Coronation anniversary

60 years ago, on 2nd June, over a year after her father, King George VI died, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was crowned at the ceremony held in the Westminster Abbey.
So on 4th June this year when the celebration was held in London, UK, I held a small party myself, even though I was sick, and I also proudly presented my new British phone case.
Yes, recently it's really been all about the UK: viola case, my room, clothes, etc. And now my phone. Many of you know that my phone is not a good one, not even a 'smart' one so you can't buy a different case, different design. But luckily I have the best sisters and brothers who have the best kids and so my oldest nephew Luka made this amazing British flag out of FIMO clay. Thank you, Luka, for taking your time. And thank you, Nokia, for making the cases so strong and everything that even though one puts it in the oven and bake it so the clay sticks onto it there's nothing wrong with it now, or didn't do any damage to the oven or anything, like it can sometimes happen in a microwave you know.
So yes, here is the case and many more pieces, many more flags of different sizes to make some more fun, useful, British thingies like earrings, bracelets, necklaces and whatever else we think of.
In case you're wondering, that is a tealight holder. ;) Plus there are two heart shaped as well. Incredible. True art. :)

Le Touquet

So I was away for two weeks now in this amazing little city called Le Touquet-Paris-Plage in France with orchestra from music academy. We were there on TIMM - Touquet International Music Masters and it was truly an unforgettable experience.

Here are some pictures from this lovely town where we stayed. Hope you like them.
