Hair tutorial in pictures

Finally! The long expected hair tutorial that I previously posted is here. Not anyone expected it probably but I know of a few who were getting on me for being late and not posting this one.

The truth is that even though this year I don't have any major trips I am barely found at home. Maybe in the mornings but then I'm off for the day. Which is amazing. But it also means I have no time to work on my blog posts and the fact that it is so hot out made it harder to see eye to eye with my straightener. :)

But let's cut to the chase now.

I do apologise for not putting up a video, I'll try to do that as well, but I'm not the best hairstylist and it took too much time so the video would be boring by all means. And my editing skills.. well let's just say I don't know if I have any at all.

Hope you like the look, found something similar to it yesterday on youtube and figured I could try it out today as there was time to spare (not really, no time at all).
It's quite easy, cute and very suitable for Summer as you have all hair off your neck. You can play it up with a bright scarf or cool it with one colour only. It has a certain retro vibe to it which I also love.

Carnival mask

This year our scouts' winter weekend fell on the weekend during the 'Mardi Gras season' and therefore we decided to set everything in the 18th century, including clothes. We made some with kids a week before but then I decided to make a better one for Maja and me, so at least the leaders would be dressed properly. ;)
So I just got to it. First I made both dresses and then a coat for Maja and the night before we started with our weekend I finished mine as well, only one hour before departure.

I was trying to go for 18th century, semi-big dresses, big behinds, fluffy sleeves, tight waist..

I tried my best and I did waste quite some time sewing and I hope you like the way it came out.

For hair I found this amazing 18th century hair tutorial that doesn't include any weird things you wouldn't have at home. The only problem is my hair is way longer and heavier so it is not really the same. Well I tried. :)

Henna - how to

Or to my friends known as kana in translation is an amazing Indian flowering plant to dye your skin with, paint your fingernails (which sometimes happens to me by mistake and lack of preparations) and of course to dye your hair. And that is what I do every now and then, approximately 3 times a year. It has the advantage that it slowly fades so you don't have to colour it every two weeks to hide your new grown hair.

Plus I LOVE the colour.

You can buy your original henna in Sariko in Nazarjeva street in Ljubljana for no more than 6EUR and you can use it for two persons or twice, of course it all depends on the length of your hair.

Don't worry, that's how it should look. And the smell is also not pleasant but you will get used to it. The texture should be like a mashed potato, if it runs too much it will be all over your back even though you put plastic foil over your hair. For the temperature increases inside and it will only run more and more as the time goes by.

You should leave it on for two hours and then wash it as best as you can. If you want it a bit darker you can mix the powder with black tea. Also after a few days it will fade a bit so it won't be as flashy as the first two days.

.. since I last posted.

I have been both busy and lazy. And spending too much time watching Gossip girl.

And also having fun meanwhile.

For example: International choir competition in Zadar, Croatia. We came third in our category among women's choir and we had the best time on this small trip of ours.

I've also been trying some DIY project with crayons, my hair, nails and even my sister's entryway.
