Carnival mask

This year our scouts' winter weekend fell on the weekend during the 'Mardi Gras season' and therefore we decided to set everything in the 18th century, including clothes. We made some with kids a week before but then I decided to make a better one for Maja and me, so at least the leaders would be dressed properly. ;)
So I just got to it. First I made both dresses and then a coat for Maja and the night before we started with our weekend I finished mine as well, only one hour before departure.
I was trying to go for 18th century, semi-big dresses, big behinds, fluffy sleeves, tight waist..
I tried my best and I did waste quite some time sewing and I hope you like the way it came out.
For hair I found this amazing 18th century hair tutorial that doesn't include any weird things you wouldn't have at home. The only problem is my hair is way longer and heavier so it is not really the same. Well I tried. :)

New in: A proper bull whip

Yes, that is not a mistake up there in the title. I did just buy a proper leather bull whip 2 days ago, straight from Hungary with all the help from my friend. I got excited in the end of August 2012 on a scouts' trip where he had it with him and I decided back then I want to have it as well. But then it took a while to just basically get to the guy that makes them and explain to him what we want. In Hungarian language. That's where things got fun so they only arrived to Slovenia a week ago or something like that. And now from Monday, 21st January 2013, I am, along with my friend, a proud owner of this magnificant work of art. You could really call it that. The guy knows what he's doing. ;)
So you might've seen me around with it if I met you in these couple of days. And if you haven't don't worry, I have it with me all the time now. :D
When I'll get to it I'll try to put a video of some cracking on as well, but I have to film it yet.
And most of all it's really a lot of fun. :)

Here it is. Total of 280cm.
Very well made as you can see.
The end of a 40cm handle is made in a shape of a horse's hoof.
A 215cm leather whip and a 25cm cracker at the end.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey UK Premiere

Well as you may have realised from my previous posts I have travelled to London last week to join the most amazing event of the year - premiere of the first film of The Hobbit Trilogy.
It was 7am when I got there, got my number for the line and waited.
And waited.
And then we moved a bit.
And waited.
And waited.
And then it finally started at 5.30pm. All going pretty slow and yet so fast that you can't really manage your book, pen, camera, words and hands well. Still I managed to get almost all the autographs, except my dear Richard (Thorin Oakenshield), but that's another story, also Billy and Dominic (Pipin and Merry) were late so they pretty much just ran by and waved. Princ William arrived even later and just drove by but even just a sight of him is priceless.
Plus the movie is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. You should all go see it. Twice. At least. ;)

And now we wait for the next part.
And before that for the airlines to start selling tickets for December 2013. I'll be the first one tu buy them that's for sure.

happy

Trying to put all these wonderful feelings and all in words is definitely hard. I'll try though because honestly I haven't felt this good in some time and it would be nice to put it out here, like it's the proper thing to do. Since it's nothing big and yet everything feels perfect. All the small, not just small, tiny things,
and moments that only last a second, tiny second.
(If we leave out Academy but that can be all done too.)

It is mostly because of all the loved ones that surround me. I feel very blessed to have the best people that I can trust and every moment spent together is worth cherishing. As it doesn't seem right to name names here I hope each and every one of them knows it's them that I have in mind. :)

I think I now know why I'm never cold. These people keep me warm,
warm from the deepest corners of my heart to the very fingertips.
I wish I could love you more. :)

I hope that someday I will dare to say I was here.

- amazing year with my wonderful friends and family -

Stupid (and fun) duck face

As you may have seen on facebook profile my friends are longing to have me learn have to do the 'duck face' face. And that's why I was confronted with this poster of sort that plainly started the so-called 'Duck face week z Nežo'. I have to thank Marko for this, he really pushed everything forward. :)
