Liebster Award

So about 10 days ago I got a special comment by one my favourite bloggers Petra from Adjusting Beauty blog (I found her on this blog that unites Slovenian Bloggers) in my #SherlockLives post saying that I was nominated for Liebster blog award. Sooo exciting!
And now I'm finally getting back at it. I'm glad I 'have' to because otherwise this blog wouldn't see any new posts in this busy month of January.

The rules for the Liebster Award:
1.   Thank the person who nominated you and link back up to their blog.
2.   State 11 facts about yourself.
3.   Answer the 11 questions given to you by the nominator.
4.   Nominate 11 other bloggers for this award who have less than 200 followers.
5.   Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
6.   Let the nominees know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them.

11 facts about me

1. I love everything that smells of UK. As you might have noticed.

2. I used to be such a huge fan of David Beckham that because he was a face of Pepsi I had one shelf full of all the different Pepsi bottles and cans from all over Europe.

3. When times get busy (like for example every January) my room is a complete mess and to get to my sewing machine I put everything from the table on my bed and then before I go to bed I just put it back on the table. Which is super stupid but I don't have enough space for my sewing passion.

4. I don't drink coffee ever, I honestly hate everything coffee-like, even chocolate that smells stinks of it.

5. I am somehow also a huge fan of everything retro. And well for now I can only wish it but maybe one day I can run a style like that if the wallet allows.

6. For the longest time I was crazy about yellow (my room is still yellow and green) simply because Orlando Bloom said once that his favourite colour is yellow. And as you can guess I was crazy about him.

7. Crazy about him to the point that for entire 8th grade I would have my hair up like he does in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Like every day. And back then it really didn't even suit me. Ah heck it.

8. I cut my own hair so then I can only blame myself for the mess and not the hairdresser and you can't really be mad at them so then your hair just sucks for some time and nothing you can do about it. So yes, for probably last 8 years I've only gone to the hair saloon for prom, but that only meant styling.

9. I can't really sleep on a bus, ever. There was just one time when we went to Spain and I only had 10 hours of sleep total for the previous 5 nights.

10. I got used to travelling light, with only carry on, which also means I'm a huge bear on every flight back dressed in multiple new additions to my wardrobe.

11. I study viola on Academy of Music in Ljubljana, Slovenia. I hope to get into an Erasmus student exchange in Autumn, hopefully Glasgow, UK.

I nominate these 11 bloggers:

3. ash.

DIY Christmas Tree Nails Decoration and St. Nicholas

Saint Nicholas stopped by tonight! We went to see him yesterday already with my nephews and then at home he was super great this year and brought me a gift card for (yeah you guessed it) Svet metraže. And some other treats and I even got some presents from my sister. But that will be another post on Sunday about that because we'll have a family meeting and well, I think I might get some more. :D (I'm very humble, I know.)
Also yesterday we had a party with some friends from Academy and my gift partner brought me an amazing tea set. Thank you, Jernej, so much. It's already in good use.

But today's post is not about Nicholas but about my Christmas tree nails I did two days ago. I don't have much equipment so it could be better but I tried my best and here is sort of a tutorial to see how to make your own. Of course the choice of colours is yours. Plus I was in a bit of a rush so there's no base coat, only top one.

Use tape to create a triangle for the tree. If you're putting a base coat make sure you use a tape that won't peel off that layer.
Colour and let it dry.
Take the tape off and then decide what colour you'll use for the decorations and what pattern you'll make.
I did the strips and a dot on the top, supposedly a star.
Add a clear top layer and voila.
And now you're ready to show off these nails in your fingerless gloves while sipping mulled wine in a decorated city center.
Enjoy your weekend. :)
PS: These guys are amazing!

DIY Music Bags and New Fabrics

So studying on Academy of music makes you be involved in orchestras and other projects with other musicians. Obviously. And then everyone there is of course crazy about all things musical. And bags made out of fabric that has some notes and instruments etc on is no exception.
So lately Neža and Špela ordered these two bags, quite different in size and the colour of the inner fabric and of course both absolutely great.
I only took these two pictures of the bag on my phone, therefore not so good quality and no details.

And today I was in Svet metraže again. It's been five days since my last visit, folks, five (5) days. That means I'm so not serious as a customer. Forgive me. :D
But anywho, joke aside, today I've spent almost two hours there, oops, and spent quite some money and brought home some great fabrics for some ordered bags and some to spare and make bags with no particular order.
If you want a bag and check more of them out visit my facebook page @Purcell's Purse with a new edited album of handbags.

Prince Edward visiting Slovenia

If this is not the time to write a new blog then I don't know what is.
Yesterday we had the privilege to welcome the Earl and Countess of Wessex to Slovenia. It was their first visit to our beautiful country and as far as it goes they absolutely love it.
And I wouldn't be myself if I wouldn't dress up appropriately. I was thinking about my British Union jack dress at first but the chances to actually meet them were not good so I went with the themed outfit for the day.
Then I'm sitting in the old town and all of a sudden a few cars, almost like golf carts, come around the corner  and there they were. So I quickly packed what I had and persuaded my friend Neža to jog along. So we followed them and while they were in the City Museum I answered some questions for our TV channel and hours later I started getting texts saying how big a star I am and that I have to check THIS LINK.
And then prince Edward appeared with his wife again. The cars were waiting for them but I got some time to quickly snap a few pictures.

And that is it. The best day in a long time. It's not all prince Edward that made it so, not at all, a lot of the credit goes to my dear friends, Ashley and Neža, visiting my grand mother, going to church and for the great evening attending two concerts in the centre which were both absolutely amazing.

Adoramus concert

Yesterday I had the privilege to work with Mr Marjan Grdadolnik again. This time as a part of a Gospel and popular songs concert that was organised by KUD Adoramus in Logatec. It was a really varied program as there were many different participants such as children's choir, youth choir, SPES - the accompanying band, additional chamber string orchestra, tambourica group Vremščica, Eva Hren as a lead vocal and Gregor Čušin, an actor.
It was all very thrilling, the songs were amazing, the interpretation impeccable and the voices flawless.
I am glad I got to be there, perform and be a part of something so great.
Thank you all for coming.

My favourites: Ruža crvena, sung by Adoramus men's choir, and Adiemus (don't have their recording yet) with Estera Stojko as the perfect soloist.

Good luck

I could use some in these upcoming weeks.

I guess this time it's on my side. :)
